If you missed it, you’ll be happy to know that Mad Heidi is now headed home in less than one month’s time. There was no choreographer, nothing.įathom Events, Raven Banner Releasing and Swissploitation Films just presented the theatrical premiere of the “modern grindhouse epic” Mad Heidi, which came to theaters nationwide for a special one-night-only engagement on Wednesday, June 21. I already talked to her and she’s willing to dance with the snake.’ I had to overcome my greatest fear. It’s my greatest fear.’ And he said, ‘Well Madonna will do it. Quentin told me, ‘Oh by the way you’re dancing with a snake.’ And I said, ‘I can’t do that. Hayek continued, revealing how Tarantino got her to do the scene: And from that dance, Quentin saw it and wrote me the part in From Dusk Till Dawn… where of course he makes me dance only for him. Put a bathing suit on and we won’t see your face.’ So I did it. They were casting strippers for Four Rooms (I was not a part of that), and the day of the shoot, in the morning, Robert called me and said, ‘Can you please come and be the stripper? We won’t see your face.’ He goes, ‘Just put a bathing suit on. Over 20 years after the release of the film, Hayek recalls how she landed the role in a chat with Yahoo: One of the most memorable scenes in From Dusk Till Dawn saw a bikini-clad Salma Hayek dance around on stage as sexy snake-whisperer Santanico Pandemonium. It’s part crime thriller, part vampire flick, and it’s one of the very best horror films to come out of the decade that’s often considered be the genre’s all around worst. Tarantino of course co-wrote (and starred in) the Robert Rodriguez-directed From Dusk Till Dawn, which feels very much like, well, a Quentin Tarantino horror movie. Movie fans are often begging for Quentin Tarantino to make a horror movie, but we kind of already got one way back in 1996. Magic Mike’s Last Dance hits theaters on February 10th.Can you believe it’s already been over 20 years? “And I got to boss them around.” Except for that one time when she almost got a concussion, it seems like she had a great time on set! You can watch her interview with Jimmy Kimmel above. “You know what was my day going into the office? I would just sit around and watch, like, 12 men, semi-naked dancing and doing pirouettes,” Hayek told Entertainment Tonight last month. “ said, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘What’s wrong with me? You nearly killed me!'”ĭespite the hiccup, Hayek says that she was happy to be working on set with all of those shirtless men. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.'” Hayek then added that the crew came in and helped her down, and she was furious that a supposed professional dancer such as Channing Tatum almost let her down. “Instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held onto the pants. “ held on to my pants, but I was really concerned because my pants were going away, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear or not in this moment,” she said, because it was the set of Magic Mike, so anything is possible. Tatum quickly swooped in to save her, though it didn’t go very well. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, so in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head,” Hayek explained. “This one part that’s not in where I’m upside down, and my legs had to be somewhere. The actress told Jimmy Kimmel that there was one elaborate dance sequence that almost ended badly. Hayek recounted a time while filming the upcoming Magic Mike installment when Tatum almost killed her, probably because he was jealous of her dance moves. Regardless of their technical dancing abilities, making a movie is hard, which means that no matter how good a dancer she is, there can always be a terrible mistake. As the release date for Magic Mike’s Last Danceinches near, it’s important to remember this: Salma Hayek is historically very good at dancing! Her dance sequence resume includes Dogma, Frida, and From Dusk Till Dawn, while Channing Tatum has what, Step Up and a few Magic Mike’s under his belt? Come on.
